On a recent visit to pureLiFi in Leith, Edinburgh, Scottish Minister for Business Richard Lochhead had the opportunity to engage with the company’s leadership team and some of the 50 highly skilled employees based in Edinburgh working to push the boundaries of future connectivity.
During his visit, he learned about the cutting-edge technology being developed by pureLiFi at their Scottish Headquarters, which is set to revolutionise future communications.
Mr Lochhead was given an exclusive demonstration of some of the company’s latest innovations, such as the Bridge XC. This system aims to extend Gigabit-capable broadband to more homes by leveraging high-speed wireless broadband, facilitating seamless connectivity from outdoors to indoors at reduced costs and faster deployment times. Additionally, Mr Lochhead experienced the LiFi Cube, a plug-and-play hotspot that offers instant connectivity with the security and performance benefits of LiFi in a flexible and portable package.

pureLiFi’s technology is currently deployed globally and being evaluated in a range of markets from defence through to telecom and consumer electronics. Their latest product, Bridge XC, is undergoing trials with international telecom companies to enhance the rollout of new broadband services. This product addresses a critical challenge in the telecom market, which is gearing up to serve hundreds of millions of subscribers worldwide and is expected to be a significant growth catalyst for pureLiFi.
During the visit, pureLiFi shared their vision with Mr Lochhead, highlighting their ambition to establish a Global Centre of Excellence for LiFi. This centre aims to attract customers and suppliers, fostering an ecosystem of high-calibre jobs and supporting the development of world-leading LiFi solutions.
