LiFi cannot be detected using a lens or telescope. Long range optics such as telescopes (lenses) have a very narrow field of view, meaning that they can only focus on either the uplink or downlink communication and not both which would be necessary for intercepting the complete communication. Even with a telescope, any signal detected would typically be too low in energy for successful decoding/demodulation.
