Yes, you can place more LiFi cells per square metre than WiFi without compromising data rate and by harnessing existing infrastructure.  

Compared to radio frequency communications, a LiFi access point’s coverage area, also called field of view (FOV) can be precisely controlled. This allows a LiFi network to substantially increase the number of cells in a given area and therefore the capacity in that area.  

The progression of wireless technology into smaller cell sizes has enhanced the entire wireless communications environment over the past several years. Wireless communications have gone from using centimetre waves in 4G to using millimetre waves in 5G. LiFi uses nanometer waves for the next generations of wireless communications.
